Donner Lake
Donner Lake is a gorgeous lake community located just west of Truckee. Some homeowners prefer Donner Lake because of its close proximity to the interstate as well as the lower prices compared to Lake Tahoe. There are many older, rustic cabins located around the lake that have that “old Tahoe” feel. Wolfe Estates and Donner Lake Woods are 2 newer developments with larger and newer homes. Many Donner Lake homes are located right on the lake and/or have incredible views of this gorgeous lake!
Donner has much to offer locals and second home owners with its beaches and over 60 public docks for sunbathing and swimming in the summer. The marina is located towards the west end of the beach and provides an area for boats to dock. The public beach on the west end of Donner Lake has many activities including: basketball courts, tennis courts, BBQ pits, picnic area, and sandy beach. There is also a private beach for Donner Lake homeowners that has the following amenities: basketball courts, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, private small boat storage, ping pong, BBQ pits, and sandy beach.
