People can dock their boats in the boat marina and there are also boats & jet skis available for rent or sailing boats that go out daily. A very popular activity summery activity is the rafting from Tahoe City to the River Ranch in Alpine Meadows. Commons Beach is a great public beach featuring a weekly farmers market and outside movies in the summer. It is also a great place to sunbathe and swim in beautiful Lake Tahoe. In the winter, Tahoe City is a great starting point for traveling to any one of the many surrounding ski resorts.
